Ola, a site-specific string installation by the artist at Capitol Hill Montessori School in Washington, DC, transforms the ceiling into a flowing wave form inspired by the sea. Created as part of the Washington DC Department of General Services "Percent for Art" competition, this 13' x 45' x 10' piece encourages students to explore nature's rhythms. Three layers of blue polypropylene cords hang from an aluminium framework, moving in a deep-to-shallow wave pattern. The installation’s layered, vibrating cords evoke the feeling of an underwater landscape, enhancing students’ engagement with the natural world.
