Spanish artist Javier Fresneda, based in Mexico, explores authenticity and totality through drawings, sculptures, and installations, reimagining historical narratives as fables. His work delves into digital cultures, modern iconographies, and the interplay between original artifacts and forgeries. In his "Reología" series he sculpts Mayan and Aztec artifacts from Mexican archaeological sites, embedding them in furniture and distributing them as encapsulated powder, blending past and present in a thought-provoking manner.
